SHORT FILMS SCREENED IN 2009

 

As part of our 2009-2010 season, we will be hosting a short films evening, showcasing some of the finest film-making the Westcountry has to offer. We’re looking for films of up to 10 minutes long - if you would like to submit a film to be considered for the screening, please email admin@torbayfilmclub.co.uk

 
 
Here’s a list of the films we showed at our shorts screening in November 2008:   

Tale of Two Minnows 9 mins

A thoroughly charming animation about everyday pond life, made by students at Coombeshead College. www.coombeshead.devon.sch.uk

 

Poppies (Directed by Ashley Wing) 5 mins

A touching poetry drama exploring the memories of a World War 2 veteran. www.ashleywing.net

 

Carbon Weevils 10 mins

The latest film from Forkbeard Fantasy is a wonderfully wacky cartoon with an environmental message. www.forkbeardfantasy.co.uk

 

Lost Roots 9 mins

A deceptively simple film about dislocation and immigration, made by students at Coombeshead College. www.coombeshead.devon.sch.uk

 

Small Change (Directed by Chris Jones) 5 mins

The tale of a lonely boy at a party who has a magical encounter with a strange old man. www.chrisjonesdop.co.uk

 

Scayrecrow (Directed by Ashley Thorpe) 10 mins

Digital artistry is used to stunning effect in this vignette of a highwayman. www.carrionfilms.co.uk

 

Moving on (Directed by Austin Hawkins and Liz McGinnes) 35 mins

A witty monologue exploring a scandal at a local amateur dramatics society. www.firsteyeproductions.co.uk

As you know, in November we having a short films evening, and we’re currently looking for short films made by local film makers, enthusiasts and students.

For guaranteed admission please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the film.
