Widely regarded as Hitchcock's finest hour, thanks to its gripping mix of suspense and mystery, coupled with excellent acting from James Stewart, Grace Kelly and Thelma Ritter. Stewart is confined to a wheelchair with a broken leg; he passes his days spying on his neighbours out of his back window.
