LOOKING FOR ERIC

(15) 2009 UK

This uplifting, feel-good film tells the story of Eric, a postman with a chaotic family, wild stepsons, and a cement mixer in the front garden. But it is Eric's own secret that drives him to the brink: can he face Lily, the woman he once loved? Desperate times call for desperate measures and, with the help of a special friend, Eric embarks on a perilous journey – into his past. From director Ken Loach.

TORBAY FILM CLUB’S SUMMER EVENTS A GREAT SUCCESS!

This summer Torbay Film Club were pleased to be able to screen the following events in conjunction with other organisations in the Bay:

As part of the 'TAMED Film Festival' at Torre Abbey, the Torbay Film Club screened a series of films for young people on behalf of the Torbay Play Forum.  The films screened included The Jungle Book, The Mask, Jumper and Twilight New Moon.  All films were shown in a huge yurt and were totally free of charge.

In conjunction with the Princess Theatre, the Torbay Film Club screened The Holy Grail for free in August as part of the Theatre’s promotion of the Spamalot musical which will be coming to the Theatre in November.  It was a very fun evening where over 500 Monty Python fans enjoyed this classic comedy.

We also screened a special ‘Twilight’ Double Bill at the Palace Theatre in Paignton to get all Twilight fans in the mood for the release of Twilight Eclipse.  This was a really fun night where true Twi-hards got to prove their film knowledge in a prize quiz.

WANT TO SCREEN A FILM YOURSELF?

Torbay Film Club is looking to support community groups who would like to screen films at special events. We can offer excellent audio visual projection equipment, support and advice at a greatly subsidised rate.

In return, we’d like to raise our own profile in the Bay and have the opportunity to work in partnership with other Torbay community groups. For more info, please email a brief outline of your ideas to admin@torbayfilmclub.co.uk

Many thanks to Sprint Print & Design, Exeter for printing our 2010-2011 leaflet!
